→ Water

04 - 4 cups filtered water

# How to make it:

01 - Boil 4 cups of filtered water using a kettle or saucepan.
02 - Rinse the teapot with a small amount of boiling water to warm it, then discard the water.
03 - Place the loose green tea or tea bags and fresh mint leaves into the warmed teapot.

05 - Add sugar to taste, if desired, and stir gently until dissolved.
06 - Cover and let the mixture steep for 5 minutes to infuse flavors.
07 - Strain the tea into cups and serve hot. For traditional presentation, pour from a height to aerate and create a frothy top.

# Expert suggestions:

01 -
  • It's the easiest way to transform five minutes into pure calm, whether you're hosting or hiding from a chaotic day.
  • Fresh mint leaves make all the difference—this isn't the dusty tea aisle version, it's alive and bright.
02 -
  • Don't let the tea steep longer than five minutes or it becomes bitter and the mint flavor turns murky instead of fresh.
  • The height of the pour matters more than you'd think—it literally changes the texture and releases more of that mint fragrance.
03 -
  • If your mint ever tastes dusty or chemical, it's time to find a different source—fresh farmers market mint tastes nothing like supermarket versions.
  • The secret that changed everything for me was warming the pot first—suddenly the tea tasted brighter and stayed hot longer.
