01 - Combine water and granulated sugar in a small saucepan and warm over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Avoid boiling.
02 - Remove syrup from heat and stir in fresh cranberries until evenly coated.
03 - Transfer cranberries with a slotted spoon to a wire rack lined with parchment paper; allow to dry for approximately 1 hour until tacky but not wet.
04 - Roll the tacky cranberries in granulated sugar to fully coat each berry.
05 - Let coated cranberries dry completely until crisp before use as garnish.
