Cool and tangy Thai-style iced tea with fresh lime, perfect for hot days or pairing with spicy dishes.

# What you'll need:

→ Tea Base

01 - 2 cups water
02 - 2 black tea bags

→ Flavorings & Sweetener

03 - 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
04 - 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
05 - 2 lime slices for garnish
06 - Ice cubes
07 - 1 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk (optional)

# How to make it:

01 - Bring 2 cups of water to a rolling boil in a small pot or kettle.
02 - Add black tea bags to the boiling water. Let steep for 4–5 minutes to achieve a strong brew, then remove and discard the tea bags.
03 - While the tea remains hot, stir in the sugar continuously until completely dissolved.
04 - Allow the sweetened tea to cool to room temperature, then stir in the fresh lime juice.
05 - Fill two tall glasses generously with ice cubes. Pour the lime-infused tea over the ice until each glass is nearly full.
06 - Place a fresh lime slice on the rim of each glass. For a creamy variation, drizzle ½ tablespoon of sweetened condensed milk over each drink and stir gently before serving.

# Expert suggestions:

01 -
  • The lime adds this incredible brightness that makes every sip feel like a tiny vacation
  • It comes together in fifteen minutes but tastes like something from a specialist tea shop
02 -
  • Sugar refuses to dissolve in cold tea, so always sweeten while the water is still hot
  • The tea needs to be strong going in because the ice will water it down
03 -
  • Roll your limes on the counter before cutting to maximize juice
  • Try coconut condensed milk for a dairy free creamy version
